Base building, FOBs & supply lines

In Ebbtide a base is not a fortress; it is a gas station and armory you have to keep stocked. Supply is the system everything else depends on.

Core rule

"Supply is what keeps the fight going." Units can only rearm and refuel at bases you hold, and every wall needs materials hauled in. Official

FOB structures

Supply: ammo, fuel and materials

  1. Everything consumes. "Soldiers, vehicles and aircraft burn through ammunition and fuel." Official
  2. Only your bases resupply. Units "can only rearm and refuel at bases you hold." Official In the ops-map video a tank out of ammunition must be resupplied before its main gun fires again. Dev
  3. Walls cost materials. "Every wall needs building materials hauled in by hooklift truck or helicopter sling." Official
  4. Convoys are targets. "The horde hunts your convoys and cuts your roads, so keep the supply lines open." Official

Three official videos focus on this loop: "Build a FOB. Then Hold the Line.", "Your FOB won't resupply itself." and "The FOB is built. Now it needs supplies." Dev

Convoys on the operations map

  • Send truck and helicopter convoys carrying supplies, troops or refugees. Official
  • The Nexus ambushes convoys and cuts roads; you get a warning before an attack and can reroute, retreat or call in fire support. Official
  • Helicopter slings skip blocked roads but bring aircraft close to a horde that climbs onto low-hovering helicopters. Official

Upgrades, automation, economy: not announced

People search for upgrade paths and automation in base builders. For Ebbtide, none of that has been described: no tech tree, no building upgrades, no automated production, and no resource numbers. Supply moves when you send it. We will add these sections if the playtest shows them.

FAQ

Is there base building in Ebbtide?

Yes. You choose where to dig in and build a forward operating base with HESCO and concrete walls, gates, scaffolding, gun nests, CIWS, mortar pits, an ammo depot, a fuel point and lighting.

How does supply work in Ebbtide?

Soldiers, vehicles and aircraft use up ammunition and fuel and can only rearm and refuel at bases you hold. Every wall needs building materials brought in by hooklift truck or helicopter sling, and the horde hunts your convoys and cuts your roads.

Can you upgrade bases in Ebbtide?

No upgrade or tech-tree system has been described. What is confirmed is the list of structures you can place and the supply that keeps them working.

Does Ebbtide have automation?

Not as a feature that has been announced. Supply moves by convoys you send yourself, by truck or helicopter. No automated production or supply chains have been described.
